MyFinancial is built on a simple principle: we never see your financial data. It never leaves your device.

Six principles that define our approach

Browser-Only Storage

Your financial data is stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage. We have no servers, no databases, and no cloud storage.

Zero Personal Information

We never ask for your name, email, phone number, PAN, Aadhaar, or any identity documents. You are completely anonymous.

No Third-Party Sharing

We do not share, sell, or transmit any data to third parties. There is no data to share — we simply don't have it.

No Tracking or Analytics

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any tracking tools. No cookies are set for advertising or analytics purposes.

Full Data Export

You can export all your data as a JSON file at any time. This file can be re-imported in another browser or used for personal records.

One-Click Deletion

Clear all your data with a single click from the app settings. Alternatively, clearing your browser data removes everything.

Technical implementation

How localStorage works

localStorage is a browser API that allows web applications to store key-value pairs directly on your device. The data persists across browser sessions but is accessible only to this website on this specific browser. It cannot be accessed by other websites, apps, or even other browsers on the same device.

What we store

Only the financial numbers you enter: income details, asset values, liability amounts, insurance coverage, and tax-related deductions. No names, no emails, no phone numbers, no identification documents.

Data lifecycle

Data exists only while you choose to keep it. You can export it (JSON) for backup, re-import it in another browser, or delete it entirely. Clearing your browser data also removes everything.

Links to partner services (e.g. TaxBuddy)

MyFinancial may surface links to independent third-party services like TaxBuddy (for tax-return filing) on parts of the app. We do not share any of your data with them. No URL parameters, no API hand-off — clicking the link simply opens the partner's site in a new tab. You enter your details there directly, governed by their own privacy policy.

Before any such redirect, we show a disclosure interstitial naming the partner, clarifying that you are leaving MyFinancial, and noting that we may earn a referral fee when you sign up through the link (this does not affect what you pay them and does not influence what we recommend).

For audit purposes we log anonymous click events (event type, timestamp, and a browser-scoped random token stored in your localStorage). We do not log your IP address, user identity, or any personal information. The log lets us prove the disclosure was shown without compromising your anonymity.
